Relating the emotions attributed to each of the 5 Elements: water, wood, fire, earth and metal/ ether, to your own emotions as a way of understanding any blocks or repetitive behaviors you may be experiencing today. You learn about the emotions associated with each of the 5 Elements and their importance to you. You understand your emotional makeup type and how to use it to your advantage. You gain greater self-awareness to make better life and health choices. You feel more able to let go of what no longer serves you and
pave the way for positive change.
This guided forest meditation session with one of our teachers is designed specifically for you and your current needs. Through experience, you learn how to meditate and at the same time eliminate stress, release blocked energy and expand your creativity. You will learn specific breathing and other techniques that you can use at home. Qi Gong is closely related to Tai Chi, combines various postures with breathing techniques to strengthen and allow Qi (energy) to flow within the body. In Qigong there may be no movement, movements may be very gentle, or at times more vigorous. The deeper one practices the more they can understand the purpose of each movement and the very specific effect on body and mind. Even a small amount of regular practice can have the most profound effects.
Dance through the 5 Elements combining breath, physical rhythmic movement and visualization. These expressions help release stagnation and blockages in our body energy and connect with our bodies and the frequencies of the elements.
The benefits of relaxing in our Salt Room include improved breathing, a slower heart rate, mental clarity and sense of calm.
This ultimate hammam experience is performed in our inner marble sanctum, rich in the atmosphere of our Byzantine past. You spend some time alone enjoying the warmth, moisture and stillness of this precious space, then, depending in the duration of your treatment, our caring therapists perform a scrub, wash and massage ritual on the heated plinth, with exotic scents and changing rhythms.
We have developed this massage-style treatment from the Theory of the Five Elements of ancient Greek and traditional Chinese medicine, which separates nature into five categories each with distinctive characteristics which are also reflected in patterns of human health and behaviour. Different people associate more closely with different elements according to their physical and psychological patterns. We determine imbalances in your dominant element and use different bodywork techniques, rhythms and pressures to create harmony and flow on a physical and emotional level.
This deeply relaxing session combines various energy techniques to relieve stress and bring a profound state of calm. Your therapist starts by opening the energy channels on your feet, moves up your body and focuses particularly on your head. It is said that when confronted with continual stress, the hypothalamus (the “brain’s brain”) literally shrinks. Our techniques help restore this area of the brain, reducing fearful thinking around trust, joy and safety. It is also good for hormonal balance, jet lag and sleep.
This one-on-one session, floating in a warm water pool, has multiple benefits such as improving mobility and flexibility and relieving emotional or physical conditions. You are cradled by your therapist who gently moves your body while blending massage techniques with joint mobilisation, stretching and free flowing movements. This is a highly relaxing and profound treatment on many levels.

The Odysseyian journey, as told by Marina and her great friend Mary, is a gripping tale entwined with mythical gods and very real philosophical messages that shed light on our very human nature. I suspect that Homer would be unsurprised to learn that we haven’t changed much. Combined with the eastern philosophy of the five elements (water, air, fire, earth and metal), each day unravels both a universal and very personal awakening. The goal is both to follow Odysseus’ tale and to find your own Ithaca, or homecoming. At the end of the retreat I was left with a more profound understanding of both my own journey and human nature at large. It’s light delivery made it both entertaining and accessible at a deep level previously unexplored on other retreats. Throw in a few spectacular ruins, a charming community and a landscape strewn with olive groves, along with a highly curated combination of healing spa treatments; I defy anyone to leave without a twinge off pathos in their hearts.
