For Excess Fire - Ground Your Energy

Balancing the heat of a fire personality is key and when ‘fired up’ we all need to find ways to ground ourselves. With the fire element it is all about counterbalancing the rising energies by turning towards the earth: walking slowly and barefoot, taking care of others, eating natural fruits and vegetables that ‘cool the pressure’. Watermelon, tomatoes, berries – summer is the ideal time to eat these superfoods which are also great at bringing down blood pressure. Practising gratitude is another wonderful way to come out of our own dramas and can help keep us ‘in the moment’, rather than letting ourselves get carried away.

FOR EXCESS FIRE  – CONNECT WITH OTHERS

When fire types feel themselves get into an illusionary state or fear they are getting caught up in a drama it is crucial for them to connect with trusted friends who can keep them steady. These friends can act as witnesses and references –they can withstand every drama, give solace and remind fire types that all is not lost (or found!) and provide a steadying influence. This connection with loved one and with community is super important. It provides a strong anchor for fire types.

FOR EXCESS FIRE – SELF-SOOTHE

When fire types feel anxious or overwhelmed by emotional highs or lows, a wonderful method to ground themselves is to put two hands on top of the heart and breathe – the magnetic energy of your hands immediately cools down the heart –brings you back to the present and calms you down. Alternatively place your right hand below your left breast, on the top of the left spleen which is associated with the earth element. The left hand can then be placed at the top of your right shoulder and can stroke down to the right elbow, this helps to smooth down emotions, cool the triple burner and take the flame down.

FOR DIMINISHED FIRE – RAISE YOUR VIBRATION

When fire personalities suffer disappointment or are heart-broken they can turn cold, feel low and go into metal. In such situations they need to take action to ‘relight their fire’ and bring themselves back into the heart. They might choose to watch a movie or drama which will light them up, or perhaps a good free-flow dancing session or laughter yoga  will cheer them. It’s all about finding new and exciting things to do which will elevate their fire energy. Drama therapy, something we offer here at Euphoria, can also be a fun way to learn and quite literally be the star of your own show.

FOR DIMINISHED FIRE – KEEP YOUR HEART OPEN

To keep the heart open and expansive is especially important for fire personalities and keeps all of us out of low frequencies.  You can stay in tenderness by hugging yourself and others. Or, as Euphoria’s resident meditation expert Mary recommends, visually create a temple in your heart. Imagine a huge red velvety rose blossoming inside the heart space. Touch it, smell it, even hear it. Let the magic of compassionate loving and living happen.
