Ingredients:

  • 600 gr plain flour
  • 175 gr butter in room temperature
  • 200 gr cane sugar
  • 175 gr milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 ½ tablespoon cognac
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • Zest from 1 orange
  • 1 egg and 2 tablespoons of milk for glazing

With the help of a stand mixer, using the whisk, mix the butter with the sugar, first on medium speed and later high speed, until they get fluffy and risen.

After that lower the speed and add the egg yolks one at a time until they incorporate with the mixture.

When that is done, change the whisk with the puddle, and add all the other ingredients, holding some of the flour, and mix them together until you get a soft, but not sticky dough.

If the latter happens add some of the remaining flour.

Shape in any form you like and glaze with the mixture of egg and milk.

Bake in a preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius for about 20 minutes or until golden.
