Rest, Sleep & Daydreaming

Water types need a lot of rest so they don’t dry up or use too much Yang energy which can cause them to drop into fear of moving or get stuck. Rest helps to protect the kidney energy, the organ associated with water which stores our essence, our inherited energy that forms the basis of our constitutional strength. Kidney energy is also said to fuel our brain and keep us mentally alert.

Ways to Rest: Listen to your body and don’t push yourself unnecessarily. Winter is not the time to embark on anything too rigorous, instead, take yourself to bed with a hot water bottle when needed. Approach any deadlines with a flexible human mindset. Gift yourself candlelit meditations, time to journal or simply to ‘be’.  Remember, when rested, the unbearable child, becomes a whole new person!
